Joanie’s Story
Joanie Morris has been involved in the sport of eventing for most of her life, first as a junior rider and more recently as the Managing Director of Eventing for the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) until August 2019. In the interim she worked for Olympic athletes in a variety of roles and was the Press Officer for the all FEI Sports at the USEF. She facilitated sponsorship activation at the 2022 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Mars Equestrian and is currently the Event Director for the $50,000 Grand Prix Eventing Showcase in Aiken, SC. She worked for the US team at four Olympic Games, three World Equestrian Games and served as team leader at countless overseas four and five star events.
She remains hands on in the sport, competing at the FEI levels of eventing and overseeing a barn of horses in Lexington, KY.
Having been involved in the bid process for the second US five star (then 4*) while at the USEF, Joanie feels privileged to have the opportunity to be involved in the running of a major event just down the road from her Alma Mater, the University of Delaware.
